After the stress of planning your wedding and getting through the actual event, everyone would like to get away from it all and go on a quiet romantic holiday with your spouse. If that is what you want then Sri Lanka is the best choice for you. There is a reason that Lonely Planet named Sri Lanka as the No. 1 Holiday destination in the world. There are plenty of options for you to wind down and relax with your husband or wife and enjoy your first days together as a married couple. With its secluded white sandy beaches where you can lounge on and activities such as hiking & climbing which you can enjoy as a couple, the romantic possibilities of Sri Lanka are limitless.
When you arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake a representative of our tour service will meet you. You will then be taken to your hotel in Colombo where you can get some rest for a while. Colombo is a bustling city housed on the Western coast of the country. It may be a city with giant skyscrapers but you can find plenty of historical landmarks pockmarked amongst them. You can visit those landmarks during the day time and at the night time enjoy the shopping and nightlife that Colombo has to offer before coming back to your hotel.
On your second day in Colombo you can explore the lesser known landmarks and visit some of the favorite tourist spots in the capital before returning to your hotel.
After 2 days of relaxing be ready to flex your muscles and climb the challenging world-famous rock fortress of Sigiriya. This is a journey that will surely test your cardio and fitness but the view from the top of the fortress is breathtaking. The ancient architecture is sure to blow you away as well. After a tiring day we will go to our hotel where you can get Herbal spa treatments to relax your body.
We will leave the hotel early and travel to the city of Kandy and also visit the Dambulla Rock Temple on the way. Kandy was the capital of the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. Nestled in the hill country it is the home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. We will visit the Temple in the Evening and then take a tour around the city of Kandy. We will visit the Kandy cultural show in the evening and then head over to our hotel for the night.
On the 5th day of our tour we will leave Kandy to visit the beautiful region of Ella. Ella is a huge tourist hotspot these days and the region consists of the famous nine-arch railway bridge, the Little Adam’s Peak and the breathtaking view off the Ella Gap. You have the option grabbing the train from Nanu Oya station and travelling to Ella and take in the scenic route. We will stay overnight at Ella, falling asleep looking at beautiful views.
Today we can visit the landmarks that you missed on the first day such as the beautiful Ella Rock. We will spend the night again at Ella.
We will travel to the Yala National park in the morning and visit Ravana Falls during the trip. The Yala National park is home to a large number of elephants, leopards and birds so a wildlife safari through this park will be a treat. You can stay overnight at the park camping or go to a hotel nearby.
Today will be your second day at Yala. You can visit the national park again or stay at your hotel and enjoy some relaxing time together.
We will travel directly to our hotel in Mirissa in the morning and settle down. You can visit some ancient temple or the Hummanaya Blow hole if you want to. But in the evening you will be relaxing on the Mirissa beach.
Mirissa, is a small fishing town on the Southern coast. It has some amazing beaches to excite the sea, sand & surf lover. Nowadays Mirissa is more famous for whale-watching and dolphin watching. The sea outside the Mirissa is home to the world’s only resident whale and dolphin groups in the world and we will be going out on a boat ride to visit them. After this wholesome experience we will head back towards our hotel to spend the night.
We will head out into Galle at earliest possible. The City of Galle is the crowning jewel of Sri Lanka’s South coast and at the center of it is the Dutch Fort built during the 16th century. The entirety of the city inside the fort is like another world, with old colonial architecture dotting the land. There are plenty of landmarks to visit including the National Maritime Museum, The Dutch Hospital and the Galle Light house. After a tiring day of exploring we will head back to our hotel.
Every great journey has to end and this will be the end of your magical tour of Sri Lanka. Our representative will dive you to the Katunayaka airport where you can depart with the great memories and beautiful souvenirs that Sri Lanka had to offer, thinking of when you can return to this amazing country.
For the second day in Galle we can travel to the nearby town of Hikkaduwa which is a very famous tourist spot. It is dotted with beautiful white sandy beaches that you can spend hours on but it’s the activities that Hikkaduwa offers that make it more exiting. Hikkaduwa is a hotbed for activities such as surfing, diving or scuba diving. The sea around Hikkaduwa is encircled by undersea reefs that generate great surf as well as act as a perfect home for beautiful marine-life. You can spend the entire day in the water and still not be satisfied. The Turtle hatcheries in the surrounding areas are nice places to visit as well.
This morning you will then be taken to your hotel in Negombo where you can get some rest for a while. You can spend the entire day there if you wish taking in the amazing beaches that Negombo has to offer. You can visit some of the old churches in the area if you are up to it as well.
Every great journey has to end and this will be the end of your magical tour of Sri Lanka. Our representative will drive you to the Katunayaka airport where you can depart with the great memories and beautiful souvenirs that Sri Lanka had to offer, thinking of when you can return to this amazing country.
